Submission Process

Follow these clear steps to submit your information easily and ensure your submission is received correctly.

Step One: Fill Out the Form

Begin by entering all required details accurately to initiate your submission and prepare for review.

Step Two: Review & Confirm

Send us your filled form and artwork photos via Google Form. You will receive confirmation that your information has been successfully submitted and is being processed.

Step Three: Acceptance Notification

Only accepted applicants will hear back from us, within two months.

GalleryBox Submission Requirements

We welcome youth artists from Markham and the surrounding community to submit their work for display in our GalleryBox. Our submissions are always open. We review them periodically and put out new forms for additional submissions.

Who Can Apply

  • Youth ages 14–17
  • Artists at any skill level

Artwork Guidelines

  • Size: Maximum 24″ x 24″ for 2D (including frame), 20″W x 20″H x 10″D for 3D to fit safely inside the box
  • Mediums accepted: Drawing, painting, photography, collage, mixed media, digital prints, 3D/sculptural works
  • Not accepted: fragile or heavy pieces, works requiring power/electronics
  • Theme: Open theme (or seasonal/curated themes announced with each call)
  • Content: Family-friendly, respectful, inclusive
  • Display-ready: All artwork must be ready to be displayed (e.g., framed, mounted, or able to stand securely for 3D pieces)

Submission Materials

  • A photo of your artwork (JPEG/PNG, high resolution if possible) (You can submit up to 3 pieces at a time)
  • Artist name, age, and school/organization (if applicable)
  • Short artist statement (100 words max) describing your work or inspiration
  • Contact email/phone number (for notification if selected)

How to Submit

Selection Process

  • Works will be reviewed by the GalleryBox youth team
  • Selected artists will be contacted with installation dates and details
  • Due to limited space, not all works may be displayed at once, but future opportunities will be available
  • Only accepted artists will be contacted
