Where is GalleryBox located?

Our first pilot GalleryBox is installed at Industrial Arts:
200 Steelcase Rd E, Markham, ON L3R 1G2
We plan to expand to more locations in the future.

Who can apply?

Applicants must live in Markham and be between 12–17 years old at the time of submission.

How can I submit my work to GalleryBox?

We’ll post open calls for submission here on the website. Keep an eye on our “Submission” page or follow us on social media for announcements.

What criteria does GalleryBox use to select artwork?

Selection is based on creativity, originality, and relevance to current themes.

What kind of art can be submitted?

We welcome drawings, paintings, photographs, mixed media, sculpture and other small works that can be displayed inside the box. Art should be family-friendly and no larger than 20″x24”, and ready to hang or safely display (include wire, hook, or a small stand as needed).

How are artworks selected?

Submissions are reviewed by the GalleryBox youth team. We consider creativity, originality, and how well the work fits with our themes or seasonal showcases.

Is there a cost to participate?

No! Submitting artwork and being featured in GalleryBox is completely free. We’re committed to making art accessible for everyone.

Can schools or youth groups get involved?

Yes! We’d love to collaborate with schools, art clubs, or youth organizations in Markham. Reach out through our Contact page to start a conversation.

How is the box maintained?

You can support us by spreading the word, donating materials, offering locations for future boxes, or becoming a mentor/sponsor. Visit our Support or Contact page to learn more.

How can I support GalleryBox?

No! Submitting artwork and being featured in GalleryBox is completely free. We’re committed to making art accessible for everyone.

Does applicant need consent by parent/guardian?

Yes! Applicants under 18 require parent/guardian consent.
